Salam and Hi.
So that’s generally all about me. Actually, during my school time, I really wanted to become a doctor. Even after my SPM, I did applied all medical courses for my UPU. I went for 3 interviews to secure a scholarship. 2 for Medic and 1 for PETRONAS (engineering) <---- just as an exercise for my upcoming interviews for medicine. After I got my SPM result, praise to Allah, I got an offer to further my study in Asasi Perubatan, UM. MARA also offer me to further my study in Medicine at MSU. When I still deciding which university I should go, I got an offer letter from Minister of Higher Education which willing to sponsor me to study in Egypt also in medical course and PETRONAS to sponsor me in UTP (wow, this is beyond my expectation). I make up my mind, I chose to go abroad. Next day after that, I told my parents that I already decided to study far away from here. Sadly, my mom doesn’t allow me to study there because of the political issues that Egypt has on that time. I understand her concerns and I am not that rebellious. I received a lot of advises from my seniors and relatives to accept the offer from PETRONAS, and finally I ended up taking Chemical Engineering in UTP. There is a lot of things happen which vanish my keen for medicine during that 2 months time. Allah has the best plan for me. I am happy where I am at now :D :D

board game
In this group, i am taking a role as a REPORTER. I'll write the summary for our group discussion in every meeting. Then I'll summarize it at the end of the discussions so that everyone would remember what have been discussed and what to do after the meeting ends.
mini project
For the 2nd project, i still taking a role as a REPORTER. Although we are advised to switch roles, everyone wanted to maintain their role as it suits us the best. People might think this is a resistance to change but actually by maintaining the roles, it makes our jobs become easier and faster as everyone already know what they should do. Less time consuming too.
REFLECTION ON COURSES (1st HALF OF THE SEMESTER)
KRD
Kinetic Reactor Design. The course name itself already scared me. At first, when I registered for this course, I am always thinking in my head, do I have to draw? I was really bad at it. Even when I draw ‘’orang lidi’’, it still doesn’t looks like it. But once the lectures started, I realize that it’s not 100% about drawing. I feel safe for a moment. HAHA. One thing that I like about this course is the lecturer. It’s Dr. Suzanna. :D It’s my second semester with her and I love the way she taught us the subject. Doing some exercise together after the lectures really helps me a lot. (Hoping for other subject to be like this too :D) Day by day, I started to like this subject more and more. Hoping to do well for this!
CPDIC
Chemical Process Dynamic, Instrument and Control. I know this is one of the core subjects in chemical engineering. Actually I am a little bit weak in advance mathematics likes Laplace Transformation, Ordinary Differential Equation etc. When the lecturers pointing out that this subject needed those mathematical skills to understand the overall concept and calculations, I doubt whether I can survive this semester well or not. But if there is a will, there is always be a way. I believed in that quote. May Allah give me strength to strive harder and ace this semester. :D
PSLP
I thought this subject is almost the same as Health, Safety and Environment subject that I took last 2 semesters. Unfortunately, it has quite large differences (a lot harder of course). Dr. Dzul is my lecturer for HSE 2 semesters back. I am glad to have him as my lecturer for this subject. Doing exercise right after the lectures is really a brilliant idea. To be honest, process safety has really open up my mind. I never imagine how dangerous and hazardous the plant can be without the proper inspections. So by learning it, it is a perfect knowledge for me because I maybe ended up working with a plant and machine all around me in future.
Reflection on board games
‘’You guys need to relate these 3 subjects in your own board game. The interconnection between these subjects in your board game will contribute the most for your coursework marks’’. When I first heard about it, I imagined how challenging this project would be. Yes indeed it is very challenging. Others might think this project would be ridiculous, but for me, I love challenges. This project has taught me the important of these 3 elements to be used when designing and operating a reactor or plant in the future. During our group discussions, we always managed to generate brilliant idea on how to relate these 3 subjects on one board game. I am very lucky to have a very good team member to work with. Fighting!
REFLECTION OF QUESTIONS
KRD questions
In this game, three topics from Kinetic and Reactor Design subject are chosen which are mole balances, conversion and reacting sizing, and rate law and stoichiometry. At first, when I started to develop a question based on these topics for the game, I think bloom taxonomy is ridiculous. If the question that I will created is to be level four or more in bloom taxonomy, player might need more than 15 or maybe 30 minutes to solve one question. This doesn’t look realistic if we want to apply it to our game. But, after some times, I found that there is still a question that show deep understanding about the subject but wouldn’t take more than 10 minutes to answer if the player really expert in this subject. Question on KRD is emphasized more in theory and understanding part and not to forget calculation part too. I learn a lot to try to make a good question from this subject. The best thing is, by doing the project, I understand this subject better and I think I am more prepared for the upcoming quizzes or tests. Big thanks to the CHEMETHOR!
CPDIC questions
About the question on CPDIC, I believe most of us will agree if I am saying that this is the hardest subject this semester. To make a question on what we haven’t learn yet, it is a very tough challenge for us. Because of the difficulty to understanding the subjects, the questions that have been created is more on theory and a little bit on mathematical part. Although we find it difficult to understand, as time passed by, we still manage to create questions according to bloom taxonomy difficulty that have been introduced.
PSLP questions
For PSLP questions, theoretical and understanding part is our main aim to prepare the question. As we know, in class, calculation part is really emphasized by the lecturer. After each lecture, Dr. Zul will give several exercises for us to be completed in class. In our opinion, understanding part in this game would be really fun. As the calculation part is already emphasize in class, it is good for us to emphasize the understanding or theory part in this game. The topics from this subject are toxic release and dispersion model. Seems easy, but seriously, not as what we think. High-order thinking will absolutely needed to answer these. Have fun playing our game :D

REFLECTION ON COURSES (2ND HALF OF THE SEMESTER)
For the 2nd half of this semester, KRD become a lot more challenging subject. But thanks to our creative lecturer, Dr. Tazli, the subject become more and more fun to learn as actually we get the whole view of what we gonna face in our future life. Life as an engineer doesn’t seem good. Living in 21th century is super-duper hard. But I believe this is the way to contribute back to the society. Learning and gain knowledge is compulsory for each individual Muslim. So I am happy with what I am doing right now. The mini project really helps a lot in term of exposure to the real life application. Keep it up Sir! Your new teaching method looks good. At least on me :D
CPDIC
CPDIC is really tough subject for the chemical students. I heard from my friend who went to exchange at United States, this is the graduating subject that the US students will go through in their final year. But here in UTP, we already learned it during our 3rd year 1st semester. For the 2nd part of the semester, we learned deeper on the control system in a plant. Good knowledge. Good exposure. But, a lil bit hard to understand. Maybe I am the only one who feels that. But nevermind, at least I willing to learn. Although it’s slow :D
PSLP
Safety is the most vital element in running a plant. Even in other places working environment, safety is the first thing to be prioritize. In the eye of an engineer, they develop a way to prevent accidents from happen. As an example, they calculate and analyze how far a fire or toxic can travel. That is actually what I have learned during the 2nd part of the semester. By learning all of this, it creates safety awareness in us.
Reflection on mini project
To be honest, this is the toughest project that I have done so far. Although it is MINI project, seriously it doesn’t look like it. The content is really informative and research based data. We have to read a lot of journals and research paper to obtain the reliable information for this project. Thanks to my group members, we manage to complete it all on time. I really have no problem working with them. Love the anticipation and their interest in doing this. Hopefully I have the team with the same energy like my current team in my ETP next semester :P HAHA. This mini project really exposed us on the technologies available in converting biomass to more useful products. I thought it is still in a development process but actually several companies already run this business although in a small scale and limited to only several countries. After doing this project, I think I have developed interest in me on working with environmental engineering company. Save the earth for the future generations maybe ? :D
