A little about my ROLE
Checking team mate's accuracy is important!:D
|
Well, as for my role in this group, I think I am the "Accuracy Coach" as I always check my group's members understanding on our projects, concepts and help to help to clarify to a member who confuse about something and yeah, not just that, I think I am the one who provide resources for the web design too . And also, I'm in charge of anything related to design editing like board designs and our commercial video. :)

Reflections on Courses
CHEMICAL PROCESS DYNAMICS, INSTRUMENTATION AND CONTROL
For this course, I'm quite excited at first as it covers, diagrams like P&ID and PFD. Also, we learn how to put sensors, transmitter and controller in a reactor system to get the desired product. It's kindda fun to learn that, but after reaching to chapter 3 and 4 where I have to deal with some ODE like Laplace's Transform and stuffs, i feel like I've fell behind as I 'm not really good in Maths and I've forgot what i learn in ODE past years, haha. But, how hard it is, I have to face it and make it to the end. Pray for me and wish me luck ! |
KINETICS AND REACTOR DESIGN
For this course, well at first i feel kindda scared to face this course as i heard from the previous batch, this course somehow one of the killer subject in Chemical Engineering. But well, in the first class, Dr.Tazli speaking and teaching style somehow attracted me and i know he will make a good lecturer. Unfortunately, Dr. Tazli will only take over on the 2nd period of the course while the 1st period habdle by Dr. Suzana, my previous seperation process lecturer. Well to be homest, its kindda dissapoint me as i didn't really catch up to Dr. Suzana pace last time, but Alahamdulillah, this time her teaching styles better :D But still, i feel this course will be a really tough one and I hope I'll make it to the end :D |
PROCESS SAFETY AND LOSS PREVENTION
I'ven Dr. Dzul's lectures on PSLP so far. Really simple and straightforward lecture notes, event same with the text book. Most interesting parts, he actually provide the students with the lecture notes on what he going to teach in that particular lecture slot as he know some of us lazy to print out the lecture notes posted on e-learning, but Ive always had my own copy tho :)
Well, PSLP is some kind of advancement and deeper understanding on HSE course and no more MCQ in the finals, haha. So i have to work harder for this course :)

Reflections on our Boardgame
First, I have to say, I quite suprise that we somehow manage to relate all those 3 courses and apply into the boardgame concept. I love the progress so far, as everypne responses and know what to do. Just one thing, I think the board game is not user-friendly as we really need to prepare high level questions following the taxonomy level which will made the players feel very lazy to play this game as one high level question will consume lots of time to be solved. But well, thi si for learning purposes, so yea, why don' t we try to make it become possible and try to put in some interesting elements to cover that negative side. In short, "So Far So Good la"
:D

reflections on questions
Kinetic and Reactors Design
For KRD questions, we chose to make the questions from Chapter 1: Mole Balance, Chapter 2: Conversion and Reactor Sizing and Chapter 3: Rate law & Stoichiometry . As for me, ive been designated a task to prepare questions from chapter 2. During the period of making the questions, we are learning in lectures as well, so I think its a good opportunity for me to understand better on this chapter. I've create the question based on the taxonomy level as being told by Dr. Tazli and to create only high level questions. Well to be honest creating questions is not as easy as it seems, as it requires deep understanding especially to create a high level question. However, thank God i manage to done it :D
Chemical Process Dynamics Instrumentation and Control
As for CPDIC questions, we were required to make questions from Transfer function derivations from unsteady-state mass/energy balances chapter and First and second order processes dynamic behavior chapter. The person who in charge for CPDIC questions was Arthur and Eehuey. Well, when first I see they doing the questions, I was like "Pehh, how the players gonna answer all these questions in the board games?haha". And also, when I ask Arthur the progress on making those questions, Arthur was like "Very HARD! VERY HARD!" .. haha,, Yeah i admit it was very hard, but i trust my team mate and the somehow make it to then end. Congrats :D. Well to be honest, if Im the one whos in charge of this chapter, I will be in a hard time , like really! hehehe.
Process Safety and Lost Prevention
And for PSLP, Im the one need to create the question together with one my team mate, Farhan. We required to design questions from Toxic Release and Dispersion models chapter. I have a really hard time at first, as we are not learning it in lecture yet. And plus. the Toxic Release and Dispersion model chapter were combine chapter in the text book and we need to seperate and differentiate the topics in the chapter as we need to create 10 questions from Toxic Release chapter and another 10 questions for Dispersion models. But, i keep read read and read and thank God i manage to come out with the questions. Well most of it were theories. Last but not least I hope the players will enjoy answering the questions although i know it is not easy,,hehehe..
PEACE NO WAR :D

my role in 2nd project??
Well for this project we have decided to be the same role as the 1st project as it seems well fit for us and we comfortable with it. So my role is to be the "Accuracy Coach". I have to check all my group mate works and an i will ask if i don't understand something in the works and of course i will mention if there's error and we correct it together. For this project, I also taken care of all the autocad/drawing stuffs. But, in this project we basically be all because this project is a very challenging and we have to cover anyone's weakneases to make it better. So yeah, thats all I think.
:)
:)
Accuracy is important in order to reach your target :D
REFLECTION OF THE COURSES (2ND PART OF SEMESTER)
KINETIC AND REACTORS DESIGN
To be honest, 2nd half of KRD subject is much more different with the 1st half of the semester. Not to say that Dr. Suzana is not good, shes goo also but the 2nd half is much more entertaining. I really enjoying to learn using the videos he made as i can repeat as much as i want if there.s something i miss or not understand. It's not like a normal lecture where if you miss something, you cannot hold off the class to repeat the same thing. I'm not saying its prohibited, but, is quite unpleasant for others..huhu..thats what I think la..hehe..So yeah.
Dr. Tazli way of teaching is completely different and I respect him for being such a considerate and understanding lecturer. Hes a good man, high spirited and have a wide vision. Around of applause !!wuu... :D
CHEMICAL PROCESS DYNAMICS, INSTRUMENTATION AND CONTROL
For CPDIC, Dr. Haslinda take over from Dr. Abbas. And yeah, I feel i gain more understanding on this subject for the 2nd half as Dr. Haslinda really explain to us on what is it actually, like whats the equation means behind all those symbols and how to use it. Overall, i feel happy about this subject for te 2nd half of it. I hope I can score in finals. Pray for me ! :D
PROCESS SAFETY AND LOSS PREVENTION
For this subject, we still having the same lecturer, Dr. Dzul's approach on having us hands on exercise really helped. He always ask us to form a group and do assignments or exercises to be submitted at the end of the class. He also just highlighted whats the important things in this subject as this will help us to focus to prepare on our final exam.So yeah, i feel quite ok in this subject. :)

Reflection~~
REFLECTION ON OUR 2ND GROUP PROJECT
Alright here we go, hehe. For this project , the moment i know whats about it during the briefing session, I was like, "wow, do we really need to do all these things? Is basically need to design a reactor for a plant!!" Well, not just that we actually need to real life problems where we need to go to TESCO Seri Iskandar and interview the manager about the amount of food waste per day. We need to think how to convert all those food waste to wealth. So, we have to do a lots of readings , like a LOTS!, on all the available technologies, whats the advantages, disadvantages and constraints of the technology and we have to only choose one and justify it. Well yeah, we managed to choose one and we have chose Hydrothermal Pyrolysis as our chosen technologies. To know more about it, you can visit our group project tab up there :)
Also, to be honest this project had made most of us, really tense and sometimes, some people get emotionally tense because of it, because we have still to deal with lots other assignments and tests for other subjects. This project actually consumed our whole 2nd half of the semester to be finish, Hahaha. On the bright side, we actually have gone through mini project of our reactor design project which we will gone through and final year studies. And in this project help me to polish back my rusty AUTOCAD drawing skills and techniques which help a lot for future needs. Moreover, this project also help us on how to actually manage our time and stress which we will likely face it everyday in the industry.
Overall, I have to say, I feel, not I , but i think, WE, felt very proud because we manage to finish this project as we are hte first batch to do this kind of things which I think unexpected. As Dr. Tazli said, "this is all to prepare us for 21st Century challenge" which indeed, I think it is true enough.
Last;y, thank you for those who spend your time to visit this website and read this portfolio. I hope This will be reference and will help the readers to get something. Not all but even one thing also is more than enough. I also want to take this opportunity to thanks all my and group mates on every efforts they have made in order to complete this project. It is not easy, indeed it is not easy, but yeah, united we stand, divided we fall. :D Thank you again, Peace no war, RESUME AND REVIVE!
