Hi there!!
My name is Arthur Eliseus, am 21 years old though haven't celebrate my official 21st birthday yet. I ave 2 older sisters, Audrey Adella and Fanny Sherry. Both of them are working now, one as teacher in SK Kepangian Ranau and another one as nurse in Dutchess Kent Hospital, Sandakan. I was born not in rich family, we all work and study hard to get where we are now and so am i only God knows how much i spent my time in studies to reach UTP today (and im glad i did it).
Before u read more, i wana share about my most unforgettable memory in my life which i was not able to share in the KRD FACEBOOK page. there was one time when me n my friend was driving to one of the highest peak at Kota Kinabalu name Bukit KOKOL area to enjoy the sunset view (it was wonderful and worth the time spent to get there to see the whole KK area with the sunset lights). On our back, we chose different route back since it looks closer in the GPS system. However, it was the scariest drive in my life. Firstly, we passed by 2 lady walking by the road and their hair was so long and do not look organized @.@ and then we reach to a school which have lots of cars but the school lights were off and no one to be seen at that area though it was only 7:30 pm (for Sabah that time is quite dark already around 8:30 pm here). Then we use this small one way road and right before i drive into the road, i saw one BIG abandoned building then a lady-like figure in black was walking to our car but i didn't think much because i wanted to reach home so badly. Going down the hill, the grass/lalang was as high as my Fortuner car (almost 2metre high car) and along the road all i see are banana trees which are very popular with the typical 'Malaysian Ghost Stories'. It was the longest 30mins drive and found a few Pokok Ara which makes the ride way spooky @.@ Up until that time, we were not sure of the road and there was no houses nearby to ask for directions. There was no turning back since it was a one way road and no place to have a U-turn so i just continue driving and out of nowhere, in the middle of jungle there was a guesthouse but no cars there just a house, i can only imagine more scary things if i stop by there to ask for directions. After almost 45 minutes drive, we manage to reach a junction which leads to main road and only God knows how happy I was to get out of the road. oh!! did i mentioneed that mostly the road were going down the hill and few times i can feel the break was not functioning!! @.@ but thank God we reach home safely but when i think bout it, abandoned house, banana trees, black lady figure, Pokok Ara and gusthouse in the middle of the jungle, if only there was cemetery, it would have been an epic thriller ghost story @.@
Try live ur life as in that is the last day of ur life then u will know how lovely and wonderful ur life is actually.
I know becoz i tried it, n u will know the real meaning of life....yes u will~~ X)

ROLE: SKEPTIC
In this project, as a sanguine persona, I will be the one to ask for verification in every ideas. For instance, every given ideas must have their connection and reliability to this project as well as all the three subjects included. I do not have any intention in denying new ideas but my role is more to provoke given ideas. As a future engineer, we must have strong foundation of our knowledge and ideas hence making my friend more interactive, creative and innovative in finding better ideas and make this project a success.
REFLECTION OF THE COURSES
KINETICS AND REACTOR DESIGN
So far in the past 4 weeks, I am enjoying myself in learning this subject. I have been learning all about design equation, rate law as well as stoichiometry equation. Dr Suzanna is the lecturer for this subject and she was also the lecturer for last semester in Separation Process. Truth to be told, her way of teaching last semester was terrible and very hard to understand and her pace was like riding a horse. However, now she changed it already where she give priority for the students to understand in the class with the class exercise and advise us to read the book or some notes before going to class to reduce any confusion.
CHEMICAL PROCESS DYNAMICS, INSTRUMENTATION AND CONTROL
Two words to describe, Very Hard!! The only easy part for the CPDIC subject so far is the feedback and feedforward system which was at the first chapter of the course. Reaching week 5 of studies, we have learn all about equation of stability and Laplace Transform. Laplace is one of the mathematical method taught in Ordinary Differential Equation course 2 years ago. Honestly, I love doing maths and though this subject is quite tough, I like the challenges to have better understanding in it. Moreover, I believe our lecturer is actually trying his best in helping to cope the theory and mathematical explanation in this subject.
PROCESS SAFETY AND LOSS PREVENTION
Just by the name process safety and loss has already shown that this subject is more or less have similarity with safety environment although it has more calculations compared to theoretical knowledge. So far, we have learn about toxic release as well as the leakage of vapor and liquid through different edges hole. The lecturer is very helpful where he help to print the lecture notes per class for the students to share them in 4 in a group. In every class, he will teach in the first half and then give class exercise in the other half. This is very helpful because we can work in a group and understand better because there are saying two head are better than one. Moreover, the lecturer will go around class and we can ask him for one-to-one approach if we have any confusion in that particular subject.

REFLECTION OF BOARD GAME
First of all, being in this group make us all became more united and know each other better although we ahve known each other in more than 3 years already. The first challenge in this project was to find the board game. There are many board games available out there but choosing the right one which can be play without much difficulties and applicable in education purposes. Secondly, when we have chosen the monopoly board game, now we have to brainstorm how can we relate all the 3 subjects as play and learn purposes and most importantly it must be a fun game. In order to do this, we have assign each members to study and really understand the given topics by our leader. After that, finding a simple but high difficulty questions to be asked during the game is not easy. We must really understand the topic so that we can find questions that using the bloom taxonomy level of question but in simple terms. This project can actually lead us to SEDEX as the ideas and inventions are really great. Right now, it may not be perfect but upon completion it will be a good game to play with your friends.
REFLECTION OF THE QUESTIONS
KINETICS AND REACTOR DESIGN
We chose 3 topics from this subject which includes Introduction to Mole Balance, Conversion and Reactor Sizing and Rate Law and Stoichiometry. The questions are consist of theory and calculation questions. Although the calculation is not too hard but I am scared later one player will take more than the given time to complete the questions. This will slow down the pace of playing and people can get bored easily. Hence, we try to pick as simple question as possible so that the enjoy feeling as well as learning mode is there.
CHEMICAL PROCESS DYNAMICS, INSTRUMENTATION AND CONTROL
There are two parts of CPDIC subject and i prepare the questions for the part first and second order derivatives. In my opinion, this chapter is quite hard because trying to understand and finding questions when the lecturer has not teach about it are really hard. Therefore, I try to reduce the calculations involved and focus more to theoretical, derivation and some graphical questions. Although there are simple questions, I did not neglect the usage of the bloom taxonomy to arrange the level of hardness of questions.
PROCESS SAFETY AND LOSS PREVENTION
I have seen the questions, we tried to pick questions more to definition and theoretical values. Although I prefer some mixed questions of calculation and theory, we also need to consider the players. This is because playing is not about winning the game, the players must also have some understanding in this 3 subjects and their connections but most importantly, ENJOY!!

role in second project : skeptic
In this project, i am still a sanguine persona. I will be the one who clarifies and shooting questions for the betterment of the group as well as the project. Basically, for this project, we have distributed our parts so that we can finish this project more efficient. For me, I am in-charge for the way forward of the project, reactor sizing and optimization, sustainability in chosen reactor and technology as well as the HAZOP identification in installing the technology or the reactor the system. Other than that, I also help others in solving some of the confusion for example in deriving the transfer function and clarifying in the reactor sizing and measurement. Other than that, I also help in searching research papers for the group members and lastly I help to monitor the movement and the on-going process of this project to its completion.
reflection of the courses (2nd part of semester)
KINETIC REACTOR DESIGN
For the second part of the semester, we are going more on real life situation and problems for this
kinetic reactor design. Dr Tazli really did assist us in learning and understanding this subject. For
his part, we have learn about multiple reaction as well as reaction at adiabatic condition.
Compared to other lecturers. Dr Tazli’s way of teaching is quite unique and different. This is
because he is giving elearning approach and more to selflearning videos that he recorded himself.
He will give this videos few days prior to his class so that the students can study first before going
to his class. This is because for him, it will be quite time consuming to explain all the theories in
the class so he prefer the students to learn through the videos. In the class, he will give a hands-
on approach to the students, where the students were give task or exercise sheet to be done in
the class with his consultation. We only have few more weeks before this semester ends, hence i
will appreciate every class and videos he gave to help the students.
CHEMICAL PROCESS DYNAMICS, INSTRUMENTATION AND CONTROL
For the second part of the semester, Dr Haslinda is the one teaching us this subject. Honestly, the
first part of the semester for this subject was terrible as we cannot understand any of the part the
lecturer teaching. Things get worst when we received our test 1 marks because most of us got less
than 50/100. This is quite a trouble since CPDIC is one of the core subject for this semester and
having this low marks for the test 1 will be quite burdensome for us to score in the finals. However
, when Dr Haslinda take place, we can finally see the light of hope. She really guides us to
understand that particular chapters and she herself will conduct the tutorial herself and give more
assistance to the students. For this subject, we learn more about the feedback control, valve,
transmitter and controller. Other than that, we have learn about the frequency analysis as well as
the piping instrumentation whereas we study how to do block diagram and read the PFD and P&ID
diagram. For the lecturer, her strictness in the class really makes the students focus and be
punctual as well as honest in the attendance.
PROCESS SAFETY AND LOSS PREVENTION
For the second part of the semester, we are still having the same lecturer. However, his class never
gets bored. He always give exercise and handson problem to the students to complete in the class
and submit them as the attendance and class exercise marks. Moreover, the way he approach the
students for the project, assignments or any class exercise really makes the class interesting to
attend and fun to study. For this part of the semester, we have learn about flame and explosion,
purging and the design to prevent fire and explosion. The lecturer was very understanding as he
give us plenty of times to do the coordinated group project and helps us to do the PSLP part for
the project either directly or indirectly. Although we are going to the end of the semester, his pace
never gets slower and this subject still focus on safety and loss prevention in any process as well
as the ways to prevent them from occurring

Reflection on the second group project
The second group project was entirely different than the first one. If you remember, the first
project was more to how to create an interesting board game and relates it with these three
subjects: KRD, CPDIC & PSLP. However for the second part, we are doing a real life problem where
as we are taking TESCO Sri Iskandar as the subject of the discussion. For this project, we are
calculating on the wet and dry waste from this supermarket. Next, we will find the best way to
change this waste to wealth. Basically, the students were asked to create a reactor system on how
to process the waste and turn them into useful product. In this case, my group has chosen
hydrothermal pyrolysis whereas we are taking the wet waste from the TESCO and convert them
into bio-oil. This bio-oil later can be used to generate energy for electricity and fuel.
Although the power produced from bio-oil is much more less than the fossil fuel, our group
are looking more to the sustainability concept. This is because although this oil still not suitable for
normal vehicle on the road, it can still be used for the company vehicles to transport the fuel or
take the waste from the TESCO.
Basically, this quite a fun but stressful project. However, it teaches us that this is how the real
problem we will face out there once we graduate. So far, all of us in this group did our best in
doing our parts and we alwasy help each other in doing this project. Although we are facing time
constraints, assignments and test, we still work together and always help each other when they
are in need. Honestly, i cannot wait to see the outcome of this project because it will really show
we have improved our understanding from foundation up to third year.
