Reflection on KRD
I particularly enjoy this subject so far! Understanding the design equations, rate laws and stoichiometry until now was not easy in the beginning, but with the help of Dr Suzanna and by referring the the text book, I had managed to grasp the concepts after a few reads. Just like what Dr Suzanna suggested us to do, revision before classes start do help out a lot, in avoiding confusions and getting the ideas more swiftly.
Reflection on CPDIC
CPDIC is the most tedious subject in this semester I guess, trying to recall all the Laplace transforms and partial fraction expansion is hard as the last time we were exposed to all the topics was during foundation. It is definitely a very challenging subject and I can feel our lecturer try his very best to convey any possible knowledge he has to us and hope we could understand more, I will try my best too!
Reflection on PSLP
PSLP is more to a subject that requires lots of practices. I love that the lecturer decided to let us do our assignment in class, this approach has definitely lessen our burden and at the same time when we encounter any problems in solving the questions, we are able to just ask him directly, instead of having to make appointments which is really convenient. I also like the fact that the lecturer print notes with important points of the topics he is going to deliver in the class, with this way, we are able to recognize the gist of the topic and have the right focus when revising for test or final later.
Reflection on board game
Knowing have to design a board game that can demonstrates the relationship between three subjects would not be easy, frustrations kicked in very frequently during the initial process of designing the board game as we could not decide on the content of the board game until we figure out the relationship. Thus every members of the team was assigned to read more on some particular topics included for the subjects and we managed to come out bits by bits of the relationship in the end. I am really grateful for a very hardworking team that will always deliver what they promised to do without any delays and excuses. The questions for the board games are definitely hard, we were discussing that persons who want to play the game must have put a lot of efforts in digesting every single bit of the topics we have covered in CPDIC, KRD and PSLP before playing the board game. The only but the biggest concern we have with the board game is, in order to meet the objective of the project to design a high order thinking game, we had definitely come out with hard questions made according to blooms taxonomy, this would lead to players requiring some time to solve the questions and the game will definitely takes a longer time to finish.
Reflection on KRD questions
KRD questions are done by Farhan, Syiqin and Hafiz. Most of the questions they formulated are theoretical ones as so far from what we had learned untdefinitely il week 5, KRD comprised of a lot of crucial concepts that calculations will come in handy when we have firm concepts of we have learned. Formulation on questions are based on blooms taxonomy in which we hope the players will really pick up something about KRD after playing it and will have fun applying their knowledge in solving the questions.
Reflection on CPDIC questions
CPDIC questions are done by me and Arthur. We had spent quite some time understanding the content of the chapters as when we were formulating the questions during week 4, we were not taught about the chapters in the class yet. Thus, it was a good pre-exposure to the lecture contents beforehand. Our questions focus more on the application of theories as most of them require the player to exercise higher-order thinking with questions with keywords such as develop, justify and recommend. Players will surely have a hard time obtaining the solutions to the questions but he/she will surely able to further strengthen his/her concepts and knowledge by playing this game.
Reflection on PSLP questions
PSLP questions are done by Hafiz and Farhan. The questions are formulated based on theories taught in the chapters. We were thinking of including some calculation questions but we decided on theory part instead as players would probably spend a lot of time solving the KRD and CPDIC questions. Besides that, since in the class the lecturer used to gave us calculation questions to work on and submit to him at the end of the class, the focus on the theoretical questions in the game will enable the player to learn more about all the concepts in PSLP.
